1. Policy Statement
At [School Name], we are committed to providing a high-quality, impartial and inclusive careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme that prepares all students for successful futures. Careers education is embedded across all year groups and supports students in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed choices about their next steps.
2. Aims of the CEIAG Programme
Our careers programme aims to:
- Raise aspirations and support positive transitions
- Promote equality of opportunity and challenge stereotypes
- Help students understand themselves, their strengths, and career possibilities
- Develop decision-making and employability skills
- Provide accurate and up-to-date careers and labour market information
- Meet the requirements of the Gatsby Benchmarks and DfE statutory guidance

4. Delivery of the Programme
The CEIAG programme is delivered through:
- Curriculum lessons (PSHE, tutor time, subject links)
- Special careers-focused events (e.g. Careers Week, mock interviews)
- 1:1 careers guidance meetings with a Level 6 qualified adviser
- Employer encounters, workplace visits and alumni talks
- Online platforms, including Morrisby, which provides high-quality assessments, personalised guidance, and a comprehensive careers library with labour market information
- Destinations tracking and transition support in Year 11 and Year 13
- Work Experience is delivered through Morrisby and mapped to the Equalex Framework
5. Year Group Entitlement
All students in Years 7–13 receive targeted CEIAG appropriate to their age and stage. Examples include:
- Year 7–8: Early exposure to careers, understanding skills and interests
- Year 9: Option choices linked to careers and strengths (via Morrisby)
- Year 10–11: Preparation for post-16 routes, CVs, and employer encounters
- Year 12–13: University, apprenticeship and employment guidance, personal statements, interview preparation
6. Partnerships
We work with a wide range of external partners, including:
- Morrisby (complete careers and destinations platform)
- Employers and apprenticeship providers
- Further and higher education institutions
- Local enterprise partnerships and careers hubs
7. Student/ Access and Engagement
Students have individual logins to Morrisby and other educational platforms. They can access careers support independently or through school sessions. Parents and carers are encouraged to engage with the careers programme through events, communications, and parental platform access.
Parents are able to access the Morrisby platform through their child's account and we encourage students to facilitate this
8. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Careers provision is monitored through student voice, staff feedback and destination data
- The Careers Leader reports to SLT and governors regularly
- The careers programme is benchmarked against the Compass+ tool and refined accordingly
9. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually by the Careers Leader and approved by the governing body.
