How to Use This Planning Document for Careers Lessons on Morrisby

This planning document is designed to support the structured delivery of Careers Education lessons across all key stages. It provides a clear framework to help careers leaders, teachers, and support staff deliver consistent, meaningful, and engaging careers learning that supports student progression and meets national expectations, including the Gatsby Benchmarks and PHSE Career Lessons.

Inside this document, you will find:

• Year 1 lessons. aligned to key transition points (e.g. options at 13/14, post-16 and post-18 decisions). This should be used by schools that have never used Morrisby platforms before, or a school wanting to embed Morrisby Lessons further.
• Year 2 lessons are aimed to be used year on year after completing Year 1. If you have already started to use Morrisby, then you may want to just use Year 2’s Scheme of Work.

To use this document effectively:

1. Start with the yearly overview to understand the learning journey across each year group.
2. Refer to the Activities that can be found and downloaded in the Library on Morrisby Manager – currently under the Tracker tab.   The Activities have detailed content, suggested delivery methods, and resource links. These include lesson plans, handouts and PowerPoint presentations where needed to deliver the lesson.  

This document is intended to be flexible and adaptable. Whether used as a full scheme or to supplement your existing provision, it will help ensure your careers education is comprehensive, high-quality, and aligned to student aspirations.

Don’t forget you can also create your own lessons in Morrisby, for example, evaluation forms, feedback on events and Work Experience Diaries and all your PHSE lessons too.

Additional lessons are available in the Lesson Library on Morrisby Manager beyond those included in this planning document. These include a wider range of full-length lessons (approximately 40–45 minutes) as well as our Morrisby Futures lessons, which are designed for flexible delivery during tutor time or can be combined to form a complete 45-minute session.
