This guide explains the Morrisby Personal Statement tool. You will see how students can use the Morrisby Personal Statement builder and request a review, how staff members can write a review and access previous versions and also how to review the progress of the whole year group.

Student view

Students can access the Personal Statement builder in Progress > Personal Statement. To get started, they can choose to use the builder or skip it and write their personal statement as free text.

Students can send their personal statement for review with the Request Review button. They will be presented with a dropdown to select a staff member. Selected staff members will have a new task in the Tasks section in Morrisby and they will also receive an email notification if you have this option switched on in Settings > Notifications.

Check your Settings > Staff & Advisers to see which staff members can be selected as a reviewer.

Once the version has been reviewed, the student will be notified and they can go to Progress > Personal Statement to see any changes to the text and notes. The student can accept or reject those changes and continue working on the personal statement until a final version is approved.

Staff view - Tasks

Staff members selected for personal statement review will have a new task under the Tasks section in Morrisby. Click on the student card to view the personal statement, add notes or make changes to the text.

Once you have made your changes, click Done Editing to send the review back to the student. If the personal statement is to be approved, you can use the Approved toggle button to let the student know.

Any previous versions are stored in the Revision History section. You can view or restore any previous versions of the personal statement if needed.
