The student enters the information into Morrisby, including parent/guardian and placement information.

Email is sent to the parent/guardian – they complete the necessary information and give consent/ or decline.
Email sent to the coordinator to approve.
The coordinator can request changes from the student/employer or both, or give approval.
One week before placement, reminder emails are sent to all parties.
Check-ins can be recorded during the week of placement.
Once the placement is over, employer feedback and student reflection forms are enabled.

A) No, all placements follow the same process to reduce the workload of the coordinator.

A) Yes, if you have the details of the student, employer and parent/guardian, you can add the information to the student account using the Impersonate function.

Q) Can the coordinator add in the parent/guardian consent if agreement was given via other channels other than the Morrisby Form?
A) Yes, the link to parent/guardian approval form is available in Morrisby Manager at stage 3 if the parent hasn't yet given approval. This form can be completed by the work experience coordinator if the parent/guardian approves of all aspects of the placement over the phone for example. Firstly, find the student's placement in the Work Experience Tab on Manager then chose Progressions tab.

You can use the filters tab at the top right hand corner to find those placements at the different stages

Select Guardian approval and all placements at this stage will be presented.

Select the placement for which you need to complete parental consent. You’ll find the link at the bottom of the section, simply copy it and paste it into your browser to complete the form.

Q) Can you request changes to the employer form if information about the placement is incorrect or more information is needed?
A) Yes, you can ask the employer to change the information and note what information needs to be amended or included during the Coordinator approval stage. For example, if a risk assessment upload is required. You can also access the form when you open the placement and click on stage 2 (Employer form).
Q) Can I delete or decline a placement before the placement is due?

A) Yes, you can retract approval before the placement starts and request amendments to be made to the forms submitted by the student or the employer.
Q) What happens if the parent/guardian doesn’t give consent?
A) A notification will be sent to the Coordinator. If the parent/guardian changes their mind, they can use their link again or give consent, or the placement can be deleted, and the student can add a new one instead.
Q) What happens if a placement is due to start, but the process isn’t complete?
A) A red clock symbol will appear in the Errors section in Morrisby Manager > Work Experience > Progressions. Links sent to employers or parents will no longer be available. You will not be able to add check-ins or progress the placement to the next stage. It is important that placements are approved ahead of the start date.
Q) Are the student’s objectives shared with the employer?
A) Yes, the student’s objectives are shared with the employer. They are visible in the employer’s form in the Placement Plan section.
Q) What if an email is entered incorrectly by the student?
A) If the email is incorrect and was not delivered or bounced back, a red envelope icon will show in the Errors section in Morrisby Manager > Work Experience > Progressions. If the email was delivered to the wrong person, they will see the coordinator’s email address in the initial and are prompted to get in touch if they were not expecting this email.
Ask the student to log in to Morrisby and update the email address. You can also do this via impersonation. The email will be sent again to the new contact.
Q) Can I amend any information in the forms if added incorrectly?
A) Yes, the Coordinator can amend the forms at any time prior to the placement start date
Q) Can the coordinator amend the information the student enters into the system about the employer before it gets sent to the employer?
A) The email is automatically sent to the employer when the student has submitted the information in Morrisby. If the student form is updated afterwards, the employer will see the most recent version when they use the link from their email.
Q) Does the employer have to fill out the form for each placement?
A) Yes, the employer must fill out the form for each placement separately. If the employer agrees, you can fill the form out on their behalf - this is accessible from a link available under the placement.
If the employer filled out the form once, all other forms sent to the same email address will be pre-filled with the latest added information, which will help speed up the process.
Q) What information does the student need to add on Morrisby?
A) All student information required by Morrisby is available in this form. This can be shared with the students so that they know what information is needed before they log in and add a placement.
Q) For how long is the employer feedback form available?
A) The employer has 28 days from the last day of the placement to submit their feedback. If this is not added in time, the link and form will be disabled.
You can send reminders from Morrisby Manager within that period. You can also use the Skip Employer Feedback function and get the placement into the Complete stage even without the feedback.
Q) What happens if the employer does not have a written health & safety policy or a written risk assessment?
A) The employer can indicate this in the Health & Safety section of the employer’s form. This will be highlighted to the parent/guardian when they review the placement, and it will also be highlighted to the work experience coordinator when they review the placement. If the employer makes changes, they can update their form later on.
